Material The MDF sheet material from our collections is formed from pressed wood fibers which are bonded under pressure using resin. This gives this material a very smooth surface. However, this material is very susceptible to moisture and heat when unprocessed or damaged due to its highly absorbent nature. As a result, the MDF will expand and cannot return to its original state. For this reason, all our MDF items are thoroughly treated with a protective coating.
